Very true it is trial and error, however thru trial in eooror i think most parent's find what work's best for them and their children.
I know everyone does not feel the need to review everyday homework, I persoanlly want to, it is how i choose to be involved in my childrens homework and their education.
I don't know...conditions and family dynamics change so much, at least for my family on a constant basis, while our core values remain the same....how we deliver and implement that message to our children changes constantly as they get older.
what if they dont want to do it at the time you have set aside, say, they want to do it right after school or not until 7:30 pm. do they not have the ability to do their homework without you saying it is now homework time. and what if they finish their homework at school, what do they do during that mandated homework time. what is going to happen when they have activities that interfere with your set time for homework. my oldest had two final exams today, she did not get home last night from cheering until after 9pm, i am not going to stay up half the night with her making sure she studies. she knows when she has exams, she knows when she has work, she knows when she has to cheer, fitting everything in is her responsibility, not mine. i think it is very important to teach kids how to be flexible. if for some reason you cant get to your homework at 5 pm thats okay you still have several hours left to get it done. without that ability they can get stuck on a time and not what needs to be done. That's okay...I was wondering why you were totally in agreement with a specific judgmental post about my children.

I'm using it in the same manner that egd3 stated, which I believe you stated you totally agree with her.
Daily homework is such a very small part of the education process, imo.
