Sneaking purchases...

I was reading another board about sneaking purchases past their husband's. I know I use to sneak before we started doing our finances together. I would actually come home during lunch to get the mail or unload packages. I was pitiful. Even now, I will bring things in the house and wince thinking how upset Devin would be with me.

So, have you ever hid purchases or not told your DH the whole picture of your finances? We use to horrible fights about finances. I would do the weekly budget and e-mail him it. We would discuss it and everything was fine. Then, he would tell me two days later that he was doing a marathon that cost $75.00. I had to actually ask him before we did the budget-Do you have any marathons? Do you need shoes? Do you have any equipment you need? Can you tell I

I would be interested in hearing your description of what you think I do.

And while I'm sure you are a fine parent, it is true that you do not devote as many hours a day to it as I do. Personally, I think you would be a far happier person if you rearranged your priorities a bit...but I realize that this kind of motivation comes from within...and I'm banging my head against a brink wall. I shouldn't say anything, but your particular situation makes me feel sad because you don't seem to have any of the joy...

I have never gotten that feeling from PJ's posts. I think she is very analytical and goal oriented AND she loves her family with all her heart. Nothing about her situation (except for that #itch) has ever made me feel sad for her.

I totally think she has the joy...sometimes more than me.

Plus, her 2.5 year old sleeps on a schedule and is potty trained. I need to be more goal oriented! When do you want Alex, Felicia? I can poke some holes in a box today and ship him out. Drama King will show you his owwy thumb and sore head.

That is so condescending...

How can you possibly know how much joy she feels from a post on an

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

The last house we owned did not save us anything in taxes because the standard deduction was more then we could have itemized.

Not in my experience. I've seen many one bedrooms in safe areas rent for $1000 and up. I think $1500 is a bit high for a one bedroom. But then that would only work for a couple without children anyway. Two bedroom would rent for $1500 and up.

We aren't talking about a bustier, here, it's a freaking PURSE. I mean, really, how much time will the stupid thing be dangling on my shoulder anyway? It's not like I walk street corners...

We took our 4.5 yo dd to the Lion King a couple of weeks ago. During the second act, she kept saying that she wanted it to be over. I told her she could go to sleep, and she said "no, I want it to be over so I don't miss any of it." She's making Simba and Mufasa masks out of paper plates as I type : )
