Ok, with all the wedding talk and what to give for gifts, I am NOW, after going to weddings for almost 20 years-lol! invited to an outdoor wedding in someone's home.
Here is the scenario:
Bride and Groom (she 22, he 36)
Living together for over 3 years
Groom-12 year old son
Bride and Groom-have a 3 year old and she is due with their 2nd in August
Wedding:
At her mother's house-catered food from restaurant

I know in other posts I said I would probably give the same as a sit down reception but we were orally invited to this wedding so I assume they are doing this just to get married before the 2nd child arrives. I have NO clue now what to do about a gift-lol!!

What I find attractive about women is what's in their eyes, their character, their experience, their wisdom, their courage, their humor -- that's what makes a woman beautiful. I think espeically as women age their beauty becomes more interesting, more nuanced and more textured. I think the beauty of youth is overrated b/c it's like a glossy magazine -- it has a shiny pretty cover but there's not always much underneath. I think of a woman like Helen Mirren who I find incredibely sexy b/c she's smart and funny and gorgeous and talented -- a woman like that makes me want to spend TIME with her not just sleep with her.

don't ge me wrong I also have my naomi watts fixation but by and large the women I find attractive would never make it on the cover of Maxim--I personally find those cover girls repugnant.

Helen Mirren, I had to google her. Ok, not my cup of tea if I was playing for the other team, but I get what you are saying, it's in the eye of the beholder.

I agree, I have gone into detail more than once about my wedding, for example.

you had to google Helen Mirren? sigh.. ;-)

The superficiality of a young girls beauty does nothing for me -- it's more than "beauty in the eye of the beholder" it's 'beauty is more than an updo and good nails' there's beauty in the lines on a woman's face, beauty in the age of her hands, beauty in her eyes, the first woman I fell in love with was 16 years older than me -- i was 20 she was 36 -- she was prematurely gray, skinny as a rail and not conventially pretty in the least but there was so much about her that made my heart skip. My partner isn't remotely conventinally pretty -- she's sturdy and chubby with wispy hair and she's never had a manicure in her life, but when I watch her charm a room full of people with her humor and her razor sharp wit she's the most beautiful thing in the world to me.
