Ok, with all the wedding talk and what to give for gifts, I am NOW, after going to weddings for almost 20 years-lol! invited to an outdoor wedding in someone's home.
Here is the scenario:
Bride and Groom (she 22, he 36)
Living together for over 3 years
Groom-12 year old son
Bride and Groom-have a 3 year old and she is due with their 2nd in August
Wedding:
At her mother's house-catered food from restaurant

I know in other posts I said I would probably give the same as a sit down reception but we were orally invited to this wedding so I assume they are doing this just to get married before the 2nd child arrives. I have NO clue now what to do about a gift-lol!!

It's easier than debating the actual comments made, lol.

If she remembers bringing a gift, why would she have needed to worry about what her date was bringing? When I go to a wedding, I don't get involved with what others are giving.

Not even your own date? A true gentleman would've discussed the gift giving, as "you don't need to worry about a gift, I have it handled".

Perhaps he enjoys sitting in his chair watching tv?

Wouldn't you bring one gift as a couple?

It's all relative. Two murders is a lot for one street. But if Boston (my home city) went an entire year with only (only!!) 2 murders, it would be called a year of urban calm and peace. Thus only knowing 2 people out of everybody that one knows who don't travel is NOT a lot of people. And hazeleyes didn't even qualify it by saying "a lot" of the people she knows. She said "a lot" in general.

Yes, and as I'm sure that poster will point out, I edited my post to ask
