Ok, with all the wedding talk and what to give for gifts, I am NOW, after going to weddings for almost 20 years-lol! invited to an outdoor wedding in someone's home.
Here is the scenario:
Bride and Groom (she 22, he 36)
Living together for over 3 years
Groom-12 year old son
Bride and Groom-have a 3 year old and she is due with their 2nd in August
Wedding:
At her mother's house-catered food from restaurant

I know in other posts I said I would probably give the same as a sit down reception but we were orally invited to this wedding so I assume they are doing this just to get married before the 2nd child arrives. I have NO clue now what to do about a gift-lol!!

but see this is what I"m getting at -- first of all I'm not that flooded with gift giving occassions I guess, I don't give bday gifts to my friends or family other than my mom and Kelly, I don't really exchange xmas gifts with anyone but kelly and Liza and my mom so maybe that's the issue -- but more to the point is that I don't have a list in my head of "so and so gets a $30 bday gift but only a $100 wedding gift but so and so gets the $300 wedding gift and the $50 bday gift" -- I just....tkae it as it comes I guess.

I have no money either believe me - I've gone the last wee with $54 in my checking acct and $4 in my wallet til payday so I get the "no room in the budget' probably as well or better than anyone here -- what I dont' get is putting a monetary value on the relationships in your life...

Yes. We. Did.

Yeah so? Those two statements, whether made in one post or across several, are not in contradiction with each other.

Or, you could have just answered the question with a simple "no."

Everyone should have kids. They are the greatest joy in the world. But they are also terrorists. You'll realize this as soon as they are born, and they start using sleep deprivation to break you.

I didn't say they were. Just responding to the poster that she was incorrect when she said she stated those 2 items in one post. She did not. They were 2 seperate posts.

But wait...did you mean "damned" in the literal sense? ;-)

Just kidding.

<<Correct me if I'm wrong: she said she knows "alot" of people who don't go out of town.>>

Again, that is not what she said.

<<The action of not being responsible for a gift for his date shows that he's not a true gentleman. Just in that little action though. >>

Again, something that simply has not been stated.
