I do not know if they could have another meal. I was not paying attention to that and it was so many years ago so I don't remember what was in the contract. Obviously the drinks that were available after the alcohol ran out was non-alcoholic drinks and maybe there were people who still wanted to drink. I wouldn't want to disappoint my guests by having alcohol to run out as many people enjoy to have drinks when they go out. Just because you don't drink (not you in particular) doesn't mean other people don't either.
I have to totally disagree with you on this one. Any party I have includes liquour. At home we usually just get beer, wine coolers, Hard Lemonade and some blender mixes. Most parties have some alcohol available whether in a home or catering hall.
