This sounds like my mil. Everyone was only allowed to have one drink at our rehearsal dinner. If you can not afford to pay for everyone, then don't offer to host the party.

I'd be fine with mismatched clothes; it's the cami top down to here and the miniskirt up to there, together with the sky-high ankle-tie espadrilles that just slay me.

According to my dd, it's not what you wear to school but how often you're sent home for dress code violations that separates the girls from the you-know-whats ;-)
