There is a couple who rides together in the Boston Pride parade each year-- their sign this year said "together 53 years, married for 3" I LOVE IT!

Yes. We. Did.

If it was a gift, then I totally understand as that would be something she can use. I don't see why someone would ask for $20 in cash though.

Sometimes you don't have a choice when it comes to more than one shower. I had 2 baby showers for my 1st child as my job gave me one. I did not have a 2nd one for my second child from my family but my job gave me one which was great as my kids are 5 years apart and I got all new things.

Yes. It was a special wedding planning book. There is sections for you to write all your appointments, all the people in your wedding party and all information for every step of the way.
In the back there is a section (kind of like an address book) where you put your guests names, addresses, shower gifts and wedding gifts in it. It was great when it came to writing out thank you notes as I had everything written down.

I know it is very different than most places. My children got mostly money for their christenings and communion. My daughter was allowed to spend 1/4 of the money and the rest went for her savings for college. It was a great way to teach her about spending and saving money.

Very true. I guess I mean the "traditional" weddings I have been to. They have all been pretty much the same overall.
