Well it has been 14 years and I only took it out the other day when my mom was here to look up an address. I don't see the big problem in writing down what someone gave you. My sister has the same kind of book. Actually this book was a free-bee for all brides getting married when I did. I am sure I am not the only one who wrote in it. I also have all my wedding cards given to me.
Yes, we are horrible, materialistic people for even noting how much people gave us.
I was previously accused of only having a wedding to collect gifts and cash. That would make me a dismal moneymaker, though. Even with many cash gifts, I didn't begin to make up the cost of my wedding. I pay attention to how much I give (and yes, how much I was given) because there are certain guidelines that people follow. Maybe it's regional, or class-based, or whatever, but these standards do exist. And judging by the gifts I received 8 years ago, most people follow them.

"No, again that is not what I said."
So what did you say?

"No, again that was not the exchange"
So what was the exchange?

exactly, lol. I wonder if the people here who are astonished at these cash gifts, have ever returned the checks to sender that they have received.
