So you will continue giving the same through the years even though prices have gone up? We got mostly $100 from each couple 14 years ago. I wouldn't think of giving that less now as each plate costs that or more.
That's so weird. Maybe because the places did not have a liquor license? My dh used to work at a restaurant that did not have their license yet but you were allowed to bring in your own wine.
I do try and find out how much other people are giving and usually it is the plate amount. The 2 weddings I am going to this year are very different, one in a backyard and one in a hall. I am only giving the one in the backyard $100 LESS because it was an oral invitation for 3 weeks and it does not give us much time to save for a gift. I have not been to a wedding in 5 years even though I have been invited to others that I did not attend.
