NOrthern New England is ,in my opinion, the most beautiful place on earth, but it's far less "propah" than our neighbors on the Vineyard, in Newport or on Newbury Street would think appropriate... ;-) The best part about northern new england is everyone leaves you alone and no one is impressed by anything. At a previous job one of my board members was filmmaker Ken Burns (who lives in Walpole NH) and he said to me once that he will really feel successful when he can elected a selectman in Walpole!
yeah in spite of trying she had it in her blood from an early age -- and the fact that I WORK at a theater isn't dissuading her that this is a fabulous life LOL. which honestly it is, theater is the best world I know -- but it's also the most brutal -- but she loves it and she grew so much when she did her last show -- she grew up, she got more confident socially, and she learned alot about responsibility and accountability. This summer she'll appear in Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland through her camp projects and plans to audition for "Charlie and the chocolate Factory' in the fall. I feel like Mama Rose from "gypsy"
LOL! I've hit "tacky" yet again! We used these beautiful silk blue flowers as part of our centerpieces (for the bat-mitzvah) which also doubled as the party favors. We filled tubes with either M&Ms (for the kids), iced coffee mix (for the men) and bath salts (for the women). The tubes were decorated with personalized ribbons (blue & silver). The tops each had a flower and leaf attached as well as some ribbons. When put together in a vase with marbles it made a very attractive centerpiece. AND we did it all for $4 per person!

i give kudos to my sister. She really has the ability to be a wedding planner/decorator. She found a sample of what she wanted online and then went about finding the stuff to recreate it. As well, she searched high and low for really cost effective ways to get the products that she needed. Finally, she's a queen with a glue gun and has the patience of a saint (if there even are jewish saints, LOL!).
She's now done my son's bar-mitvah, my second wedding and my dd's bat-mitzvah. We are already starting to think about the decorations/favors for my other dd's bat-mitvah that's 18 months from now!
no, actually our guests really did have no issue with it. As for your dd, it's a shame that no one spoke to your daughter about the inappropriateness of wearing a micro-mini to school (blech!). I'm surprised that you let her out of the house that way.
Does that fall under the realm of "tacky" as well? LOL!

I didn't mean it in a bad way.
