Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.
"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

I wanted to add that I never said that.
Actually, you did:

I didnt say that. So before you LOL to hard you might want to quote what I said and not add anythng to it.
Yes, you did.
The issue was originally whether or not a used mattress was acceptable. You stated that for you, it was not. OK.
Then, when asked what if you couldn't afford a new one, you stated that you'd borrow from your parents and that anyone who couldn't afford to buy a mattress should not be living on their own.
So you didn't say the word "new" in the 2nd part...but since that was the issue, unless you specified otherwise, why should we have believed that you meant anything other than a new one?

If they decide they want to go to school say at my alma mater it is $45k a year at the moment. If they want to go to the other school that's heavily in our family it will run upwards of that now when including all costs.
So yes, I can see where folks get very high numbers!!!
Me neither.
