Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.

"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

Yes, I watch TLC and HGTV all the time.

I personally just do not like used, unless it was from someone very close to me and I have never had that opportunity.

lolol!!! My dh's cousins bought a house from the 70's in the 90's and the house still look like 1970 with the green shag carpet-lol!! Needless to say, that did not stay too long.

I also have hardwood in my bedrooms. I could not do it in my living room as it would be destroyed by the kids and dog!

That's fine that they all updated by you. That doesn't even brush on the topic about how everyone you know replaces the carpet and is a universal thing in your area. But that's fine. It's a silly thing to claim anyway.

Not too bad! I try and do neutrals so I can match anything to them. Painting every 10 years is enough for me-lol! My daughter's room is the brightest with purple. I have gotten used to it and worked around it with other pink and purple things so it is not too bad. We just did our house in contrasting tan and clay.
