Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.

"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

No. They have their rooms and the basement but it is not finished and they rarely play down there as it is cold in the winter and in the summer they go outside.

I don't come here to brag how much my family and friends have, like some op's. I know the gamet from lower income to higher income.

Thanks. We have not read or seen any Harry Potter so that is why. My dd is 9 and she wouldn't have known either!

But would your parents help you if you needed it? I know that my father would have never let me sleep on someone else's mattress if I could not afford it at that time. It is just the parental thing to want to take care of your children.

So you won't let your children live in college dorms?

I agree with the comfort factor. I LOVE our couch. It is so comfortable and it comes clean right away so I am very happy with it.

I never had a cold and sterile feeling though. I guess it is the way you decorate around it-?

I don't know what they will do now but I don't see why you could not bring your own mattress if you really wanted to. Do they not let you? I wouldn't know, I didn't go away to school.

I would highly recommend them to any adult. They are a very good read, plus the audio versions are phenomenal.
