Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.

"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

Again that's the beauty of the uniforms -- you could leave thos jumpers in a drier for a week and the dang pleats would still be sharp enough to draw blood....

I prefer to describe our look as comfortably frumpy with a bohemian flair... ;-)

Through craigslist or the classifieds (I'm just repeating what dj's said in this thread).

There are any number of alternatives, but I have no desire to sit here and type up five or six suggestions on how to get around the problem of not having enough seating in your living room without going further into debt when you do not have the cash to buy a new couch, only to have you shoot down every single one and insist that your way is the only way because everyone you know does it the way you do it. What you should have done, obviously, is kept your dog away from the couch.

I find in a pinch that rousing game of musical chairs solves any seating shortage situation....

But I did NOT have any money for the couch. I was not using money from savings (as I am trying to save up as suggested by everyone to have 6 months salary) so this was the best thing for us to do.

Proudly so baby bring it on! I own not one suit and I like it that way! I do however own a fabulous collection of broken down sandals, kick ass boots, and a wardrobe that's almost entirely black...

I'm always amazed that people can get away with no suits at all.
