Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.

"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

I find it totally fascinating that you know so many intimate and personal details about so many people.

wow. do you have the right to report abuse of the system? i really don't believe i do....in fact,i know a sahd at my dds school whose abusing the workers disability act. he even admitted it to us,once. when he's in public places like school,he uses a cane to "look the part" so to speak. but when he's home, his life contradicts the very part he plays. our dds are friends and while i don't believe he's doing the morally or ethically right thing,i'll be darned if it's my responsiiblity or right to report him.

Actualy I do think that if you see abuse of the system that we have not only the right but the obligation to report abuse of the system.

This is one of the wackiest things I've ever read on this board. I don't even know what to say. I'm going to go back to work and do something productive.

But believe me if I saw someone breaking the law, I wouldn't stop to wonder if I had to the right to report it. Shaking head . . . really really really shaking head! In fact, I'm going to copy & paste your post here as you have a habit of editing. I don't even know if this is stirring the pot or just . . . I don't know what.

nope not going to edit it. in fact,i think i did i mighty good thing writing it right the first time if it's being understood ;)....tell me,though. your dd is friends with another girl whose parent is abusing the government. you really believe you have the right to judge that and cite the abuse? if people like this have to disguise themselves the way this man does,it will catch up with him. sooner or later. not going to get all bent out of shape over it and guilty because i didn't pull the switch. if you've got the guts to do it,great.
