Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.

"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

I don't know why, it's your logic, I don't know why it can't be applied here.

My main cc's will not be paid in full for a very long time but we are working on it. That is why we take advantage of the 0% deals.

Yeah, but for all you know, the poor sap you're talking about may have been unable to pay her electric bill because her car broke down. So she paid cash for the car repair and put the elec bill on a cc. Which is so different from what you did .... how?

I am sure they know some. Some people will tell you every detail of their life, how much they make, what they owe, etc. to the last detail. My dh has been friends with the guy since he moved there and they have talked alot through the years.

Then you're not living on your two incomes any more than a SAHM who uses CCs.

I don't understand how:

A. SAHM has $10K in income, but spends $12K is WRONG but
B. WOHM has $20K in income, but spends $22K is right.

Well then my priorities are different than some. My electric bill would come first to be paidin cash and the car would go on the cc.

But your claim was that you lived on $900 a month when in reality you lived on more then $900 a month due to various other things (WIC, BAH, etc).
