Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.

"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

Yes, 1991. I wasn't quite as young, I was 31 years old and had three kids.

Historically miltary pay and beneifits go up during war time and down during peace time.

Yup. I have a limited card for the coupons. I love their pants-- the "shorts" are actually short enough. LOL. But there is no way I'm paying $70+ for a pair of pants. Now, carrying a balance on one of those cards is pretty silly, since the APRs are usually really high-- 25%+.

I just got a 15% coupon too for using my Kohl's card. I saw alot of money doing this with Kohl's, Gap, Old Navy etc. as they always send me coupons. Gap sends me $10 off all the time. These cc's are always paid off in full everytime I use them.

When it is in the best interest of our children, I don't consider it gossip. It was a warning to let everyone know what kind of person lived at that house.

Yeah, yeah...burst my bubble. I was just sitting here thinking that at least Texigan had a couple years on me. ;-)

In 1991, I was 28.

You could get that information from a variety of websites, more accurately, too, since it would give you the rate of return, expense rate, etc.

To each her own, of course.

We put quite a few of our regular expenditures on our cc and pay it monthly. We were able to use the mileage we earned for our family of 4 to travel to NY this spring break. We will use the mileage we accrue again next spring break for another big trip.
