Staying at home a choice??

The author of this article thinks most mothers go to work because they want to, not because they have to.
"Most parents from two-parent families today do have a choice when it comes to parental care. They can try and talk themselves into believing they don't, but it really boils down to priorities."

Does anyone (other than her) really believe this? I don't know of anyone among my friends who works who wouldn't rather be staying at home with their children. But they don't have the choice!

Ya' know I was going to stay out of this but the irony sorta hit me.

I'm sorry this statement is just...wrong. We have, now, quite a few posters who have been telling Hazel exactly what she should do with her life, what she can afford, and whether or not she should work and NOT ONE person here truly knows her situation. Except Hazel. Yet if she does the same thing you people jump all over her.
I've been trying to ignore most of this because quite frankly its none of my business how Hazel spends her money. If she says she can't sah, she can't sah. End of story.

"It's hard for me to see the purpose of the conversation."
To me, the purpose is to see if your savings are okay or if you need to step it up.
