"Have you been criticized for your decision to maintain your career, whether it's outside or inside the home?"

I agree. I think my problem is with the way the author of the article phrased it. "Maintain your career inside the home."

Yeah, I don't think SAH is a career either. I guess you read it as "I'm choosing career A over career B" and I read it as "I'm making a choice concerning my career." Make sense?

"I think it is hard for some to say - you made that decision and I am happy for that person for the decisions they make when it is different from your own. It leads you to wonder - well I respect that person - they decided differently than me - so maybe I need to understand their decision so I can feel more comfortable with mine."

I would hope that ppl woud respect other decisions that are not the same as theirs...but i dont really understand why somone needs to understand others decisions to be comfortable with their own and why it would be hard for somone to say you made the right decision and iam happy for you b/c it is different from their own...

Im just dont follow this train of thought....I know it happens but i would not consider that human nature...maybe iam wrong though...

It is almost like saying iam okay with my decision if you approve.

I am NOT saying that YOU need others approval to be okay with a decision

I am NOT saying that YOU don't respect other people's decisions.

I am saying that many people (for example) need their mothers approval. If you mom does not agree with working parents - it may be harder for them. (That is NOT me - but some of my friends - yes it is them.)

I am saying that

Oh I know you were not saying that about yourself personally... I was just approaching the general idea...

I dont think it takes a very balanced person to not judge i think it takes a open mind...
