Yeah, for as crazy as she can drive me, I wouldn't trade her for anyone. Once upon a time I actually did need this level of micromanagement to be a functional individual. I can't blame her for not being able to shake off decades of once-necessary habit. She loves me and she's got my back - that's what matters. The rest will be dealt with gently and all in good time. :-)

am truly sorry for the loss of your mother, but please stop projecting your loss onto everyone else.

actually, this is assuming what it is my intent was.

I never assumed what your intent was. I usually can't comprehend what you're saying anyway, so I stopped trying.

talk about boundary issues, perhaps there's a debate in there instead of assuming what it is my intent is.

Im not really talking about myself... But...imo if you are judging somone b/c they have made a different decision then you have imo you may be pretty darn "close minded.

"count your blessings, it's nice you have family around to watch them..my kids never knew my mom"
I am sorry, but what a flippant response. Mother/daughter realationships can be some of the most difficult, and telling someone who is dealing with some severe boundry issues to count their blessings is just plain rude. I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother, but please stop projecting your loss onto everyone else.

Finally,
I am sorry that you have to deal with that type of behavior. It doesn't matter who the persona is, it would drive me crazy to have them going through my stuff.

So are you saying that you are more likely to judge somebody that makes the same decision as you or are you saying you just don't ever judge anybody?

LOL, count your blessings, it's nice you have family around to watch them..my kids never knew my mom and only once did MIL come down to watch our kids, i accompanied DH on a business trip to chicago adn she stayed with our then two young girls, she was - and still is to some extent - very, very critical of our parenting, as if her own parenting is one to emulate, sigh...sometimes you gotta roll with the punches.
