Nobody told her God didn't love her. You seem to have made that part up. She was told to follow her conscience in regard to taking the eucharist, and knowing that the Holy Father has recently reaffirmed the church's stance on artificial birth control, she felt that she could not take the eucharist in good standing.
I don't know what your priest told you, but those are the rules.
