Not all private schools in all areas of the country are overtly religious.

OT, but excuse me, ma'am...

I've had siggies turned off for quite some time, for fear of inducing seizure activity ;) but I just turned them back on (because I have one now) and realized that yours seems to be missing someone...

A heck of a lot of kids don't need supervision 24/7/365.

There are many times when my children are out of my eye sight, they are unsupervised at that time. shrug.

I don't agree with that....I gradually reduced direct visual supervision from an early age.

this has not much to do with anything but liza routinely stays home while I grocery shop and she's really good about her parameters but a few weeks ago she stepped outside, the door slammed shut and she was locked out -- she was so funny, she went round back to the deck ( the slider was open but the screen was locked so she couldn't get back in) but the tv was on so she sat on the deck watching the tv through the screen until i came back --

it led to a good discusson about making sure the doors were unlocked before going outside and the fact that one of our neighbors has a spare key -- she was amazingly composed through the whole thing --
