If you work, do you find that summer's are the worst?

Why does your kid always get what he wants?

Oh, I think so too. We church shopped when we first moved here -- fifteen years ago -- and it probably took me five years to get off the mailing list of some of the churches we didn't join.

Fred Phelps and crew are protesting my church this afternoon, so we must be doing something right.

Or in the case of Catholics, all that plus you are supposed to have recently gone to confession, IIRC.

I posted a full explanation to Crusader, but basically it's a communion/eucharistic table where only certain people are welcome to participate.

Sorry, but I never heard that and that is something not done at my church.

And what do they do announce it at the mass? How would they know if the person coming up WAS RCCL OR part of their church?

Guess so. Maybe because you are used to your VBS being more of a "business" than a "break" in the summer for ANY child who wants to participate. There was NOTHING "behind" the VBS that I attended and if I felt like they were "solicating" the church to me, I would have not gone.

Your Catholic church has an open table where everyone is welcome to participate in the eucharist?

That would make it a very unusual Roman Catholic Church.

Why do you think the VBS at my church is more of a business than a break in the middle of the summer?

DD too! I get the biggest sighs ever when she realizes she must get in the tub. Too bad, I refuse to be the mom of the stinky kid.
