Thanks anyway. Just like crusader, it is not something RCC's have heard before so a link would have been nice to show us where you heard about this. Oh well.....

Nope. I've attended lots of Catholic masses.

But I've never tried to take communion at one, and never would, because I am aware of the restrictions around it.

"It's just not an activity I want to, or want my kids to, participate in as it doens't fit with my personal beliefs.

I don't like country music, but I've designed many an ad about country music. I don't drive Chevys, but I've designed many a chevy ad. My kids and I don't play soccer, but I've designed soccer brochures"

There is a difference between doing something even though you don't use or like them and not fitting into your "personal beliefs"
Think the word is "selling out" :)

VBS is not intended for what person? The person who isn't a member of the church? Would you clarify please?

I told you. Google the phrases I gave you and you will find several thousand links. You don't think I am going to post them all here, do you? Even for you!

Right. I think that makes sense, since your denomination does not practice an open table, that you would not have heard that phrase.

<<Must be because I don't see how anyone would know if the person coming up communion should be-shrug. >>

I don't know, I would know if I tried to take communion in the Catholic church, even if I said all the right words, I would know that I was being disrespectful to the Catholic church regardless of whether not I agree with their rules or not.

Yes, I have been to masses where it's clear that others outside of the faith were present and the priest states something similar.

In our service, the pastor clearly states that the UMC is an open table; open to those of all faiths, churches and even those who do not belong to a church.

This one is particularly heinous, IMO.
