I don't know, I would know if I tried to take communion in the Catholic church, even if I said all the right words, I would know that I was being disrespectful to the Catholic church regardless of whether not I agree with their rules or not.
Yes, I have been to masses where it's clear that others outside of the faith were present and the priest states something similar.
In our service, the pastor clearly states that the UMC is an open table; open to those of all faiths, churches and even those who do not belong to a church.

But I've never tried to take communion at one, and never would, because I am aware of the restrictions around it.
