You are familiar with vbs that do not teach that Christ is our Lord and Savior, which is the basis of Christianity and the antithesis of atheism. What kind of Bible school ignores the divinity of Christ?

"My parents took the approach they did because it was important to them that I learn to try to understand other people's perspectives and put myself in other people's shoes. They wanted me to grow up with a higher priority for compassion than fairness. Personally, I find it atrocious that parents run to the principal's office every time their precious child's feelings are hurt, without taking the time to work with the child and teach them how to understand and respond to such situations. If you would rather save yourself time with 5 minutes in the principal's office, good for you. Personally, I am glad my parents chose to take the time to help me understand."

I really like this approach.

I think both behavior AND money are factors. I can see where "vegging" out at home all day can be the safest place for *some* children because of their family's financial circumstances. I can also see where a suburban or rural child from a typical middle class family would spend most of his/her time "vegging" in the house because of behavioral habits.

Both IMO play a factor.

With all of the crimes and ugliness in the world, I can't imagine even a Muslim God being insulted by Catholics' decision to have a closed table.
