Here's an article where 5 women explain why they chose not to have any children.  http://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/5-women-explain-why-chose-not-kids-165300500.html

Did you ever think about not having children?  Like some of the women, would you have had more time to enjoy your husband?  Would you be divorced? Wink  Basically, why did you have children instead of not having children?

If you don't have time for the whole article, some of the reasons included 1.) having a fulfilling life already, 2.) growing up with dysfunctional parents or other close relatives/friends who were miserable because they had kids, 3.) getting to sleep in late, travel the world, not spend the money on kids, 4.) a biggie ~ not feeling the maternal impulse.

Would you life be as happy/fun/fulfilled if you hadn't had children?

It was outside, thank God. And DS scored two goals, it was a great game.

Oh, Morty, I don't know how to explain in any simpler terms that going to Egypt that year really might have been something we would have chosen to do dans children. Perhaps it's time to move to a simpler topic, one with fewer variables. Ketchup or mustard?

That's mean.

How are grading the papers you said you needed to do?

But fb is different, it's superficial fluff to her, Lol.  How strange but good catch on your part.

I am not "blaming" anyone for less fun.

Sure sounded like you blamed your kids.

As I said, I am actually happier and more fulfilled for having had less fun.

That really makes no sense.

It is a life I deliberately chose. I do not believe the purpose of life is to maximize fun.

Sorry to hear that. I hope to never stop having fun.

I am not sure why it would be frightening, but some folks seem to go to a great deal of trouble to avoid it, so I thought perhaps it might be.

People go to a great deal of trouble to avoid sitting down with a cup of tea and a book? Who do you know like that? I personally LOVE my times sitting with a cup of tea reading.

Don't like being pushed into a corner when you backpedal so you find the need to just put others down on their choice of fluff questions? Real nice.

The double standard is intersting...what makes you think others aren't also out having fun between posting here if you can easily do the exact same thing?

Well when they say they don't have fun, it kind of answers that question. lol.

No, Morty, I just thought it would be nice to talk about something that you are interested in for a change.

Good, because I didn't say anything about being friends.  I'm make the statement, again...that I don't care what is posted on your facebook, yet you keep mentioning it over and over to me.  Odd.

Nope, I posted it.

It's not that mean. It would be meaner to keep trying to explain something she's either chosen not to understand or is just incapable of understanding. Papers are coming along fine, thanks. And, I got my mums, asters, and bulbs in in the new flower bed I dug last weekend, DH is back safely from France, and I'm down 1.3 on my weekly weigh in. So far, a nicely satisfying weekend. Sounds as if yours is going nicely as well.
