"A straw man argument is a logical fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position. To "set up a straw man" or "set up a straw-man argument" is to create a position that is easy to refute, then attribute that position to the opponent. A straw-man argument can be a successful rhetorical technique (that is, it may succeed in persuading people) but it is in fact a misleading fallacy, because the opponent's actual argument has not been refuted."
My point has been made.
Really? What was that point again? LOL

Ok. Thanks for sharing.
You're quite welcome.

A routine? Hmmm...then why would you ever break that routine? Here we are back at the 16 yr old question.
And here we are dancing with the straw man again.
<<>>
Can you answer the question? I will be happy to retract what I said when or should I say if you chose to answer the question.
I believe I stated why I think it is babying them when you nurse an older child. Just in case I believe it is babying them because nursing is for nutritional needs of an infant. This is how an infant gets their nutritional needs. A child that is older no longer needs to nurse because he/she can get their nutrition from other sources.
That is making a lot of assumptions about why the child is still nursing, and how much they and their parents feel they are benefitting from it. Something that you and I could not possibly know.

Who is having sex with a 40 yr old man? Can you be more specific?
Why on earth should I be? Isn't it the "Act" that you have an opinion about? LOL

You can hate me, but do it because you know me, not because I’m a member of a group. Anyways, people aren’t grapes --- you can’t weigh them in a bunch, but I guess it’s easier than dealing with people as individuals. There, I’ve solved the riddle of prejudice: it saves time.
Are you asking if I would be comfortable letting my 8 year old nurse if I had no milk? Because why on Earth would I be either OK or not OK with what someone else wants to do?

Doesnt change what I said.
It sure does.

So..it is called an opinion. We all have them.
No, it's called judgment, stereotyping.
<<>>
I think we both know why you wont answer this question.
Well, if you're thinking that it's because it's a ridiculous question, then you're right! :-D

<<So you would be ok with a mother that had let her milk dry up decided to let her 8 yr old child suck on her breast? >>
What does that have to do with anything?

Nope.
<<>>
Wrong.
<<>>
Wrong again. Why is it ridiculous?
<<>>
When you answer the question I will tell you.
<<>>
And right back to you not answering the question. Why is that again?
<<>>
Still waiting on that certification. Got one yet?
Is that your opinion or fact?
PumpkinAngel
<<>>
Sigh. I will let this go. I stand by what I said. Neither of us is budging on this one. I will agree to disagree.
<<>>
Yes. Just like I have an opinion about nursing. It varies depending on what age we are talking about. You gonna be more specific or not?
