In your opinion. Or is it your judgement or stereotyping?

Yes i know since i nursed all my children, however there comes a time that snuggeling with mom means sucking her nipples for comfort and security or a quick healthy snack is innapropriate in the relationship for the mother and child, imo.

Again the issue that has been brought here is that nursing helps with the babies need to suck. So that is why I asked the question. Would it be ok to allow them to nurse (or suck) at the mothers breast if there were no milk?

So you're equating a new PS2 game to NURSING?

For crying out loud...

Nursing is a SNUGGLE. Want, desire, need...doesn't matter. It's a close time with mom. My kid never had to EARN that like they would EARN a new toy or a special outting to a special place.

yes every child is different, that is beside the point imo. I cannot see one logical reason to allow your child to nurse other then b/c they want to b/c they say so b/c they say so.

"Then you just are not listening to me, b/c i see it as harmful to their well being. I see nothing benificial in allowing your eight year old to suck your breasts for a quick healthy snack or to feel safe and secure."

I hear what you are saying. What I want to know is WHY. And a "why" answer that can be backed up with more than just "that's how I feel".

"Not at all, uncivilized to me would mean no running water, or electricity. "

Aah well you see, I would tend to see "uncivilized" as meaning people who are not able to be "civil" to each other. Impolite basically. People who are always at war. Nothing to do with technology such as running water or electricity. Those aren't available in every area of the planet, but many people where there is no running water or electricity are perfectly civilized to each other and treat each other with respect. sometimes more than we, in our industrialized nations, treat each other.

i told you why, b/c a eight year old sucking their mother for a quick snack and to feel secure is not imo, learning age appropraite coping skills.

Im not going to go thru this agian about links, i offered links.

If a mother has little to no milk left when your child starts school what is the logical reason to nurse? i think nature is telling you it is time to move on.

I did not read your entire post and im really bored with this subject, my opinion will not change.

I stand by my views.

No, iam not comparing nursing to a ps2 game.

My children were weaned way befor they had a ps2.

Nurisn is not a snuggle for my eight year old. NO WAY! wont happen!

A snuglle for eight year old is a big hug kiss rub on the back, head, ect...my eight year old my not suck my breast to snuggle!

I agree to disagree, im bored, time to move on!
