Besides, I wasn't trying to change your mind. I simply wanted to share what the research has to say on the topic of bfing and school aged children. Something I have yet to see you do btw.
Well I am really not concerned about research on animals.
But that's what I'm asking you for - your opinion as a scientist. What about the composition of bm or the act of bf'ing leads to a higher IQ? Forget what the other statisticians say for the moment.
The statistics in this area are hard to rely on because it's so hard to "correct for all other factors" and conclude bm is why the 2nd grader scores 6 pts higher on the IQ test.
Even the breastmilk/IQ advocates say IQ is increased by just 5 or 6 points. That doesn't really make a difference in the average person.

I don't want anyone defensive. I'm establishing the IQ thing about bf'ing is so far-fetched as not to be believed. And you said bfing until age 2 is necessary as that is the age that the immune system is fully developed. Well, I disagree there too because 1 yr of bf'ing is enough. And if children in daycare who are being breastfed are considered, then that whole 2 year thing is disproved. Children in dc notoriously get more ailments and more frequently than do SAH children - formula fed or not.
Great. I really enjoyed the schedule my babies were on. It allowed me to leave the house without worrying that my infant would be screaming before I got back. I could go out shopping for a couple of hours without bringing them with me.
Yes, it's a question of demographics. It's not a question of cause and effect.
The better-educated and informed are more likely to bf. The under-educated are more likely to formula feed. In fact, federal funding for the campaign for bf'ing awareness is used to target those in society who are low-income. At the same time, WIC covers formula. So, it's clearly a question of demographics.
<> Short of giving all babies an IQ test before they've had much bm or formula - maybe at about age 2 weeks - and retesting them at age 7 or 8, they really can't.
OK, so now you're saying the immune system is not fully mature until age 6. Before you said age 2. So, you would have to espouse bf'ing until age 6 under your theory. Do you think, if someone breastfeeds, she should do so until the child is age 6?
My best friend was breastfed until she was five, and her mom practiced many attatchment parenting ideas. She doesn't have any social issues. lol! She does have a very good and close relationship with her family, but not at all to the exclusion of others. She's a very healthy, normal person.
Then you missed it i copy and pasted the exact quote that it stats that oxytocin, is released during orgasim, nursing, and contraction. I quess you missed it if you do not believe it to be fact look it up yourself.
<> There is no specific mother and child in question and no ones is debating that anyone is under any obligation to cater to other ppl or do ?I have issues with choice, i have a OPINION!
I know it's unusual but I grew up with both my mom and dad home. My dad is an artist (has been doing it exclusively for over 30 yrs.) and my mom didn't work outside the home until the youngest moved out. Things were pretty lean until I was 9 or 10 financially. We wore clothes given to us by people from church with older kids, my mom raised chickens and grew vegetables, and provided childcare for two of the neighbor kids after school for a couple of years. My dad bartered for car repairs and dental work. But we always had what we needed. It can be done without going on welfare.
