I think it's okay for people to BF as long as they want, but my own personal (non-scientific "ick" factor) age is 5.

"Imo your evidence has not suppported your opinion, that is my point."

It most certainly has LOL!

It is my opinion that nursing a school aged child is perfectly healthy and normal. Furthermore, I have supported this opinion with evidence. (see below ).

"Dettwyler writes that nursing a four year old, or even a six year old, is both "normal and natural for humans."

"Small provides evidence for this claim from data from both ancient and contemporary human cultures. Analysis of the remains of American Indian bones from a site near the Missouri River shows definitive evidence that infants were breastfed exclusively for the first year of life and then gradually weaned when they were approximately five years old."

"PLEASE LINK ME to where I said ANYTHING about not benefitting. Anything at all.

Did you want your children to benefit from the comfort/security/reassurance aspects of bfing?

A simply yes or no would suffice.

TIA :)

"Well I am really not concerned about research on animals."

You're not concerned about research on human animals? Why not? We are both you know :)

Actually nursing can help AVOID obesity and type 2 diabetes, but I'm sure someone else has mentioned that by now.

Can you please show me what you accused me of or not? If not then please retract what you said. Until you can show me where I said anything that closely resembles what you said dont ask me anything else.

Nice dance. A simple post number will suffice. LOL

Nursing school aged children helps prevent obesity and juvenile diabetes? Thats news to me.

My issue was with kids old enough to begin to associate food with comfort. Not nursing babies and toddlers.

I was agreeing with you till the end....I have never seen a convincing study that showed that IQ was actually increased by BFng beyond a year. If you have it, I'd love to see it.
