I do compare it to sucking the thumb -- both are instances of sucking for comfort that are common in infancy and disappear as the child matures. I think bedwetting was a poorer choice to illustrate infantile behaviors because most of the time I think it's a physical rather than an emotional immaturity that is linked to bedwetting.
