I do not recall saying ppl have claimed it iam asking why is it necessary to nurse school aged children? Anyway your comapring apples to oranges by your examples.
I was never comfortable nursing in public beyond the age of about three months because that is about the age that my kids began to see feeding as a social activity and not want to be hidden under a blanket or wrap. They'd pull the cover off and want to wriggle about and stuff. Not exactly moments for public consumption.
<<"So how does anyones situation promote it a necessity to nurse school aged children?"
As far as I know, no one is making such a claim. Please cite the poster who is doing so.>>
I'd like to see that too. :-)

You can hate me, but do it because you know me, not because I’m a member of a group. Anyways, people aren’t grapes --- you can’t weigh them in a bunch, but I guess it’s easier than dealing with people as individuals. There, I’ve solved the riddle of prejudice: it saves time.
Um relax, there is no need to yell, My whole position throughout this entire debate is that nursing school aged children is not necessary to their growth their development their well being their comfort and securtiy ect. It may not be what you are debating here, but it is my stance.
SO if it is not necessary to their well being why do it? B/c they want to?
I agree, that is the general consensus here, and TBH that is my personal ick factor too. I still cannot say that the 8 yo is being harmed by nursing, however. Extreme? Yes, IMO. Necessary? Not my call to make. Harmful? Not necessarily.

Yes, it has been discussed and who cares Iam asking your views on the issue not the conclusion of a discussion.
I would quess b/c it is a private thing like a family secret. we have them all families do.
I know many women who nursed their kids until they were 5 or 6. (Most online, a few IRL) Most of these kids are teens now, some younger.
