Here's a little pre-holiday fluff. Now, answer my questions so I don't feel like Peter Brady the day no one came to his surprise party.

1. "Between Blahniks and Birkenstocks" -- what's your favorite shoe this summer?

2. Whom, out of all the posters who disappeared after the Great iVillage Reformat of '03, do you miss?

3. What's harder, technology or liberal arts?

4. Lemonade or iced tea?

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth?

Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

2. Whom, out of all the posters who disappeared after the Great iVillage Reformat of '03, do you miss?

Smokeythemom and annikismom (who both only make very rare appearances)

3. What's harder, technology or liberal arts? Technology - there are right or wrong answers. :)

4. Lemonade or iced tea? Usually iced tea, but nothing says down time like lemonade.

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth? Yes, yes.

Okay I will answer these! Feel priviledged, I really should be loading up the motor home so we can get outta town, lol!!

1. Favorite shoe(s) this summer.....I have a pair of flip flop style sandals that I got a few years ago at Target that I *LOVE* and that I always get tons of compiments on. Unfortunately, I wear them so much that they are starting to fall apart!

2. Fave long gone poster? Yvonne69. I wonder if she is in law school now or what is going on in her life!

3. Well for ME, technology would be harder. The Arts *ALL* come very easy.

4. Mmmmm.......I guess lemonade (Is it flavored ice tea or plain???)

5. (sung off key)....*I love a paraaaaddde!!!! Yes, we are driving to my dh's hometown for the big 4th celebration. They have a mountain race there every 4th that is real big in the runners circuit (of course dh is in it!). This is a little seaside town that goes from 3,000 people to about 40,000 people during the holiday. Its always a lot of fun, usually several of our friends come to camp on the beach and 2 of dh's 4 sisters live there so we have a family barbecue. Oh and there *IS* a parade, lol.

My answers...

1. "Between Blahniks and Birkenstocks" -- what's your favorite shoe this summer?

What's a Blahnik? I like Birks, but I tend to wear the cheaper off brands. Also love my Tevas, and have a funky pair of Doc Marten sandals too. I have *one* pair of heels, which I have worn *once*, as the maid of honor for my best friend's wedding.

2. Whom, out of all the posters who disappeared after the Great iVillage Reformat of '03, do you miss?

Mappers & Mebb. Two reasonable and articulate posters.

3. What's harder, technology or liberal arts?

It just depends. I do both--I have an MA in English, which led to a technical writing job with a software company. For me, technical writing is WAY easier than literary criticism or creative writing.

4. Lemonade or iced tea?

Lemonade, but it has to be *real* lemonade.

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth?

Yes. This afternoon, we're heading to the small town where my sister lives, 4 hours away. They have a parade where kids can decorate their bikes, scooters, whatever, and be in the parade. My kids and their cousins will be in it.

Of course, in Utah, the 4th pales in comparison to the 24th. That is our state holiday, and we have a parade that I think is the third largest in the nation. People sleep overnight on the street to get a good spot. It's crazy! We usually go, although we go at the last minute and never get a curbside spot in the shade.

1. "Between Blahniks and Birkenstocks" -- what's your favorite shoe this summer?

My payless sandals! I have always loved Payless flipflops! They are cheap and COMFY! lol Other than that, I'm a naturalizer and Nike girl. That's all I wear.

2. Whom, out of all the posters who disappeared after the Great iVillage Reformat of '03, do you miss?

No one, really. Not that I can think of, anyway. I really like the new format. I have managed to "get to know" people better with this format.

3. What's harder, technology or liberal arts?

Depends on a lot of things, such as learning abilities, etc. I know some people who flew through technology type degrees, but couldn't pass a liberal arts class if their lifes depended on it, and vice versa.

4. Lemonade or iced tea?

Iced tea, but only with 2 cups of sugar per gallon, and it has to be decaf!

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth?

yes, but I don't go to them. I only like to watch the ones on tv on major holidays like Thanksgiving. We will be going to a "town fair" thing we go to every year on the Fourth. They have a GREAT fireworks display!

I'll answer my own questions.

1. "Between Blahniks and Birkenstocks" -- what's your favorite shoe this summer? It's a pair of tan leather thong sandals from Kohl's with a buckle on the side. They cost $14, and I absolutely love them.

2. Whom, out of all the posters who disappeared after the Great iVillage Reformat of '03, do you miss? Alfreda and sarah1klein. I wonder what happened to Sarah's husband, and I miss Alfreda's gentleness.

3. What's harder, technology or liberal arts? That's a ridiculous question, and I refuse to answer it.

4. Lemonade or iced tea? Iced tea.

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth? Kind of and yes. As long as I don't have to go into Boston, I'm happy. Tomorrow we'll do our local parade, and then we're having a barbecue at our house.

Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth?

1. "Between Blahniks and Birkenstocks" -- what's your favorite shoe this summer? My favorite shoe this summer is a pair of red strappy sandals from payless $8. I wouldn't wear either birkenstocks or blahniks.

4. Lemonade or iced tea? -- iced tea, plain, no sugar, no lemon, brewed not instant

5. Do you like parades? Are you going to one for the Fourth? -- I'm going to see Susy (virgo)! So you'll have to ask her what she's got planned for me! lol
