Top 3 Excuses I Can't Stand from WOHMs..

1. We NEED two incomes to survive... Yeah Right! I honestly believe that out of the people that say this 90% would be just fine if they would cut their lifestyle, move to a cheaper area and sacrifice. I am not buying it one bit when people say this.

2. I put my kid in Daycare for the socialization.. Good grief, how much socialization does a 10 month old need?? Besides there are better ways to much socialize young children.

3. I am a better mom if I work outside the home.. UGHH! How in the world do you think you are a better mom by handing your kid off to Grandma or someone else to raise while you go work?? Unless you are going to beat them or verbally abuse them, I always think at home with mom is where kids thrive the most..

THere are others I can't stand, but these are my top 3. Have at it..

my kids have more freedom to pick and chose summer activities because i sah than if i woh and had to seek all day arrangements much like the school year.

Liza gets to do both-- I take vacation time with her for relaxing by the pool, goign to the lake and hanging out -- her dad does the same. At her daycamp she goes to the beach, the lake, bowling, mini golf, movies, children's theater and museums as well as has weekly ice cream treats and 'special days' like luaus and hoe-downs. And then she gets to indulge in her muscial theater camp for a month which you coulnd't pry her awy from if you tried. Her camps and her ability to chill out and unwind by the pool are not mutually exclusive -- she gets to do both.

Again, my kids have 3 structured weeks out of 11 weeks of summer, and are free to do whatever the other 8 weeks.

We have a pool at our condo complex and we're there nearly every night after dinner -- we swim, we bring a cold drink (mine is often a cool chardonnay LOL), and by the time we've walked home Liza is tuckered and ready for bed and sleeps like an angel!

not sure how hanging out by the pool and home translates to not involved but ok. ironic humor stolen from other post just today. lol.

>>Perhaps we just have more options around here, who knows? I don't specifically see all day arrangements, far from it actually<<
not sure what this is supposed to mean but i'd be happy to compare how many choices are available in st.louis versus houston, texas if i actually had the time to measure the enormous wealth of choices in a big city like houston, texas alone. lol...nor do i understand what having sah friends whose kids participate in your kids camps has to do with anything. i said *my* kids have the freedom to pick and chose summer activites because *i* sah than if i woh. and that's a fantastic thing. smiles. :)
