1. We NEED two incomes to survive... Yeah Right! I honestly believe that out of the people that say this 90% would be just fine if they would cut their lifestyle, move to a cheaper area and sacrifice. I am not buying it one bit when people say this.
2. I put my kid in Daycare for the socialization.. Good grief, how much socialization does a 10 month old need?? Besides there are better ways to much socialize young children.
3. I am a better mom if I work outside the home.. UGHH! How in the world do you think you are a better mom by handing your kid off to Grandma or someone else to raise while you go work?? Unless you are going to beat them or verbally abuse them, I always think at home with mom is where kids thrive the most..
THere are others I can't stand, but these are my top 3. Have at it..

You mean like I did when I said this about 200 posts ago?

Ah, you aren't giving yourself enough credit.....you look beautiful!

Nope, you were not the only one who saw it for exactly what it was and not whatever it has become.

LOL! It is a work in progress currently with DS....thank goodness for "Cars" underpants...they were a bigger motivational tool than I could have imagined.
Any suggestions on getting them to poop on there? Actually....I guess this is not the board to be searching for that answer LOL.
That's quite interesting. I am really curious to see what happens as DS wants to go overwhere with Dad after work(fix the dirtbike, getting wood...whatever...he's the shadow) but still runs to me when he stubs his toe etc.(most of the time....by the end of a weekend it is equally me or DH usually).
Thanks Chris.
if you are sincere with the question, i recommend that you get him in the habit of looking at books while on the pot. it helps kids relax--takes the pressure off those that feel it, and simply makes it easier for the rest.
of course, maybe i am way off base here, as i was not sah when they trained, and so i was apparently only a marginal player in the game....
well I was looking to find out if one would conclude that it might be harder to return to work the longer you are home with them but I would not expect you to read that deeply into the post or even consider that it is anything less than "a ridiculous question" Carole.
Sadly, it does not surprise me that you could not return anything less scathing that what you have. A question is just that; not a criticism. Personally(just my OWN opinion) I cannot imagine leaving my child at 6 wks (but I have never been forced to) unless it was with DH...and even then....breastfeeding is a very important part of childrearing in my home so it would be for short periods of time. Certainly not back to work fulltime unless there was no other choice.

This was my point in the other thread.

LOL! There was nothing in that post that even approached "scathing". However, you didn't ask " that it might be harder to return to work the longer you are home with them ", you asked if we were able to BOND with our infants before returning to work. Those are two completely different things.
As I stated, I BONDED with my infants when they were born, when I could hold them. Having to return to work when they were 8 weeks old had NO effect on that bond at all.
Hmmm, define "no choice at all"...you mean like when PAID maternity leave runs out??? Yeah, that's when I went back.
Finally, I didn't bf so that wasn't an issue in terms of leaving my children with others.
