Transitioning back to work

I'm not sure if this topic belongs here - so feel free to ignore or redirect me. I was on another board and the topic of what should the Stay-at-Homes years count for when you transition back to the work world. Does staying at home allow you to develop new skills or do you just go right back to entry-level? Does this subject come up here once in a while? My quick review of recent threads didn't come up with anything.

As a SAHM, I agree with your post.

A lot of the SAHMs I know never had any intention of WOH once they got pg or had kids.

And I agree that SAH "warps" a lot of former FT employees who were gung ho about the workplace. I've gotten a lot of heat on this board in years past for questioning why a company would choose to hire a former SAHP, but I do think this attitude shift is part of my reason for being reluctant to hire a former SAHP.

Well, I wouldn't say it's impossible.

<<I wonder on this one, which comes first, the attitude or the sah?

That makes sense.

I wonder if families with sahd's go through the same thing?

I have to say, I really like having DH at home while I'm at work. It makes our lives much easier logistically.

I have to admit, that my first reaction to this comment was less than pleasant.
