I am a sahm and for us, I really try to encourage my dh to take a vacation day for him. Go do whatever he would like to. He works alot, he is really a work a holic and needs time for fun. He usually fights me about taking a day but when he does he really enjoys it.

<<I get jealous sometimes of my DH's 30 minute drive to and from work everyday...how I would love to have a whole hour in the car to myself these days! : )>>

I feel the exact same way.

I do the same thing!! ...that is whenever I get to run an errand alone, which isn't very often.

Aggggghhhh, I still remember those days. When I had babies and it was rare for me to go anywhere without them. It was soooo sweet when I did and I could put on the radio and not listen to Barney! You are knee deep in those baby years, but they will pass & you wil have lots of drive time in the future w/out kids. Trust me.

Another obvious solution is for him to take a vacation day to spend with his kids so she can have a day off. Maybe he hadn't thought about that a sahp needs vacation time as well. What I did was to take Mother's Day as my vacation day from kids (dh was the one who originated the idea). Dh watches them (only one now) and I spend the day with my mom and sisters without kids.
