For the past 6 years my children have been in a school with volunteering during school hours. You could be a class parent, plan parties, go on field trips, spirit day, lunch room, recess, coaching, etc.

At our school, you'd have to find someone to watch your child(ren) even in those types of instances. My friend went in once to read to the classroom with her preschooler in tow and they made her leave the preschooler in the office. I suppose they are strict b/c they don't want to have to start making exceptions for different instances - just easier for them to say no.

We are not allowed to bring younger siblings to school for any type of volunteering and they are not allowed in the classroom for parties, etc. The only place we may bring them is to lunch or to Mass/prayer services.

Volunteering was, definitely, part of the mommy olympics when my kids were little.

That would be my concern with parent volunteers in the class room. That is one thing that thankfully has not caught on down here.

That doesn't answer my question though. I wasn't asking whether schools in general allow sibs. I was asking if homeroom moms generally get to bring sibs along, this in a school where sibs are always invited to anything parents and school aged kids are invited to too.

Insurance reasons. They are not covered for the siblings to stay there while school is in session.

In our school you would. They don't allow siblings to be in the school like that.
