"We don 't believe in that [WOHM]"

On Friday, as I was driving hom from work, I stumbled across an interview with the wife of the one surviving miner from the collapse in WVa. In the course of the interview, someone asked her if she worked.

Her response was that they don't believe in that. She explained that her husband was very proud of the fact that he was the sole supporter of the family, and that he didn't need her help in supporting them. She explained that they just don't believe in women working after they have kids and husbands, and that they believe her place is at home with the kids.

My heart really goes out to her, and this post isn't about her, but about the sentiment that women shouldn't work because their place is at home. And being a real man, even if it means working in dangerous conditions, long hours, holding two jobs and being a step away from poverty at every turn, means that your wife doesn't work.

I suppose this is the first time that I've heard someone, not a movie character or a character in a book, express this sentiment. I don't understand why anyone would be proud to limit their spouse's potential. Or why be proud that you live right on the poverty line?

If they didn't see the dangers of their POV before, surely that entire community, and even the whole country, has now seen the risk that we talk about on here all the time, the risk that suddenly the SAHM will need to find a way to financially support the family. I wonder if anyone will re-think what they believe in.

You are home all day, but you are paid to work at home.

Sorry, but "the legal profession as a whole" is not an idiom for "IN MY ARE , WITH MY EXPERIENCE THERE WERE A LOT OF DISHONEST ATTORNEYS", no matter what size typeface you write it in.

"We are told that in , "cattle and sheep outnumber people by the millions." Which is why we're here, I suspect, given that cattle and sheep don't post spoilers on the internet, or if they do, they all just say things like, "Moo moo moo, moo! MMM! Moooo, moo. MMMMM, moo

No, that would be a licensed home daycare. Yours seems to be unlicensed. In my state, you can take in up to four children without needed a license.

Sort of like my neighbor who teaches piano in her home. She used to have a studio where she taught like 20 kids. It was a home business then. Now she's retired and she teaches two kids mostly as favors for friends, though they do pay her. She's no longer incorporated or whatever it is you do when you're self-employed; she's considered an independent contractor or something. But she still has a job. She's not confused about that.

I was frustrated there. If I have more kids, they will be far apart, MY choice as well. But, only because of circumstances from earlier in life.

Go back and edit out that part of the post before I report it.

I didn't say that. My DC providers helped, as do the kids' teachers now. But they are *helping*; they aren't raising him. They aren't teaching him morals and values and beliefs, they are enforcing societal standards and educational standards and reinforcing the morals, values and beliefs that *I* and theif father, stepfather and stepmother have set. My DC providers have NEVER instilled morals and values in my children. That is solely their parents' responsibility.

I never said every cop is racist. My god, you really do like to put words in people's mouths. First, you started off by claiming I was against SAHMs, when I have never stated such a thing and am not at all. Now, you are posting that I said *all* cops are racist? Can you find a quote for that?
