"We don 't believe in that [WOHM]"

On Friday, as I was driving hom from work, I stumbled across an interview with the wife of the one surviving miner from the collapse in WVa. In the course of the interview, someone asked her if she worked.
Her response was that they don't believe in that. She explained that her husband was very proud of the fact that he was the sole supporter of the family, and that he didn't need her help in supporting them. She explained that they just don't believe in women working after they have kids and husbands, and that they believe her place is at home with the kids.
My heart really goes out to her, and this post isn't about her, but about the sentiment that women shouldn't work because their place is at home. And being a real man, even if it means working in dangerous conditions, long hours, holding two jobs and being a step away from poverty at every turn, means that your wife doesn't work.
I suppose this is the first time that I've heard someone, not a movie character or a character in a book, express this sentiment. I don't understand why anyone would be proud to limit their spouse's potential. Or why be proud that you live right on the poverty line?
If they didn't see the dangers of their POV before, surely that entire community, and even the whole country, has now seen the risk that we talk about on here all the time, the risk that suddenly the SAHM will need to find a way to financially support the family. I wonder if anyone will re-think what they believe in.

I didn't call you morally bankrupt and asked for a clarification.

"However it is important to me that I am when they are small."
So, there's no logical reason why seeing the first steps is more important than seeing the first kiss lol.

I would not even begin to know that one. If I had to guess I would say about 7-10% I would say that number would be low. In your opinion how many defense attorney's get criminals off with *twisting the truth* tactics?
Just like the way that Johnnie Cochran tried to prove that because Fuhrman had used the *N* word before made him corrupt? Really? Is that why Fuhrman was a huge fan of football and had several items in his collection with OJ's picture on it? Fuhrman was out protecting good from evil in towns where OJ didn't set foot into...much less Cochran.

I have explained myself repeatedly. Why do you keep asking the same thing?
I worked for several different attorneys. As a whole, I found them dishonest. WHy I kept working there? No, I am not morally bankrupt but I needed the health insurance and paralegal work was my only real usable skill at the time. The reason I needed the health insurance is no one's business on here. The way I have been attacked I wouldn't dare mention it. However, once things got better and I could go on my dh's health insurance I quit to sah. I knew I could not go back to the legal field b/c I did not like what I "saw" when I worked there. Would it be any different if I lived somewhere else, I do not know. Maybe.
I'm sorry, I had work to do...please forgive me for not jumping into every single conversation in this thread.
I don't know

So you don't base you decisions on possible differences or results from those decisions?
<<You gonna answer my questions about goddess or what? I asked twice. >>
I answered one question you asked, I don't see a twice...please point it out.
