What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

You can say it's superficial, but when someone is unwilling to change their wardrobe, then I think it's not superficial at all. Because it *is* just clothes. Why not mix it up?

I don't care if Felicia loves lined shorts and pleated pants. It's not really the style itself...her *thing* could be anything, t shirts and jeans, plaid skirts and cardigans.

No mosquito larvae for vegetarians. Algaeburgers! Algae are vegetables. You get a nice big scoop and throw it on the grill.

So what if you think they look better? So what if it is mumus and hair rollers? I see no reason to try to talk people out of the clothes they like in the name of fashion homogenization. Whether it is somebody who ALWAYS dresses conservatively or somebody who always wears hippie clothes or somebody who wears mini skirts when elderly (former co-worker) I applaud those with the confidence to wear what they want.

I abhor the fashion police shows (not as much as the nanny shows because no children are involved) but the whole concept of fashion police is repellant and anti-individualistic to me.

ITA. I don't get this attempt to talk somebody out of wearing the clothes she likes under the guise of "having fun". Part of this might be Hollywood's fault. It is an enduring theme in comedies that the pinched, unhappy character suddenly finds joy only AFTER buying and wearing something whimsical as suggested by the lighthearted protagonist. The message (obviously well recieved) is that wearing the same conservative clothes for years is proof that you are a miserable person but happiness is just a feather boa and turquoise shirt away.

I know what you mean. I really do. I don't want the whole world to look the same either. It bothers me on the show when they force the guest to throw out their entire old wardrobe. I mean, I have a ton of stuff that I wear for sentimental reasons, not for fashion. I wouldn't want to throw that stuff away.

BUT, I don't get being totally unwilling to try something new. Why not?

I love What Not to Wear. And in most of the cases, the person's look *is* having a negative effect on their life .. .either a career/work issue or a "finding a boyfriend" issue. And, in 99% of the cases, the person ends up feeling much better about themselves when it is done and over.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

If you have a large enough wardrobe, you don't wear individual pieces that often.

But what if they feel better when they look better. I have yet to see a WNTW where the person madeover didn't have a huge boost to their self-esteem in the end.
