What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?
My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

Lol, that reminds me of a novel I am reading right now. The woman in it is a fashion consultant and one comment she makes/thinks when she sees an older woman wearing *classic timeless* clothing is that it makes the woman look old.

I agree that there isn't anything inherently wrong with looking out of date. But if you do, you likely won't be labeled as having "good taste" or "a sense of style" by most (which I think is what DJ's point was).
If I wore what I did in the 90's (flannel shirts and Doc Martens) I doubt if most people would think I had good taste. But then again, "style" is subjective . . .

Oh, you know what I meant. Great as far as being able to take abuse.

I don't know. Paris Hilton is trendy but hardly a fashion icon. Princess Di, Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly were timeless in their fashions. They wore what looked good on them not what was trendy. They are considered fashion icons for a reason.
Think about the recent surge in vintage clothing on the red carpet also. I don't think trendy, new clothes necessarily means you are fashionable. I think it means you like trendy clothing.
Fashionable and trendy are two separate things.
General response to the subthread...not to you in particular.
So PNJ might wear classic clothing that looks good on her. It does not mean she is not a fashion mistake automatically. DJ might wear trendy clothing. It does not mean she is more fashionable than PNJ necessarily.

<> Actually, I think it's both. I hate my kitchen right now. Mainly because it's very difficult to work in which is one of the reasons I just don't enjoy cooking. I have two small countertops. When two of us are preparing a meal, we're constantly vying for the countertop space. The layout is horrible. You should see me trying to prepare anything when we have company. Since we do spend an awful lot of time in my kitchen and since we do have visitors almost daily, I want one that I can work in comfortably. I love my built-in hutch, but not my grimy, crappy cabinets and my cracked countertop.
Next year I will get a new kitchen. It will not be high-end, but it will be pretty. Farm sink. Old fashioned fixtures (to go with my almost-100 yo house). Simple cabinets (Mission/Arts and Crafts style). Expanded area to fit a huge oak or pine table. Glass doors leading onto the deck. I *can't* wait! LOL!
