What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

Yes but having fashion sense means understanding that some trendy styles are for the young. Its not about trying to look young, but about loving clothes and fashion and style. And not being afraid to try something on that might be a bit off the beaten path from one's comfort zone.

And speaking of "When Harry Met Sally" who can forget those pants that "Sally" wore...the waistband was almost up around her armpits. So 80's!

True, but most people who go for the timeless classic look understand that the mainstream silhouette changes every so often. A woman who likes conservative clothes might not have bought a suit with really large shoulder pads to begin with. Then, she might take it in to be tailored, remove the pads and give the jacket a closer fit. Maybe shorten the skirt or have the waistband removed. That's the appeal of the conservative look - small changes are all you need to update it. The plaid shirts and docs were a trend that was destined to be short-lived. You can't convincingly update it.

>>Cut is way too subtle a distinction for me.<<

Definitely not for me. I caught part of an old 90210 re-run the other day (don't ask!) and the gals were wearing these incredibly high waisted, pegged jeans that was very unflattering IMO.

I'm sure in a few years we'll look back at low rise jeans and say "what were we thinking!" since that's how the fashion cycle typically goes. I'm curious - do you own any jeans?? If you do, what's the cut?

I agree that fit (with quality) are the most important.

What do you think about your look (your face, your clothes) that makes you "naturally look younger"?

Well, with some detailing, style *is* cut; you have to cut differently to get pleats.
