What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

"I seriously doubt any psychologist would think those aversions was worth addressing, nor do I think a nutritionist would either." A child psychologist would. I kid you not. Sensory Integration Disorder is on every Child Psych's hot list and God forbid your child have any aversions to any textures.

My dd got sucked into the system via developmental delays and believe me, they actually took note that she "tolerated the texture of Play Doh" and such. They descend on any child who doesn't respond well to a particular texture- but only if that child is in their sites already because of some other problem.

Thanks to you both from me, too. I'll probably have a very simple white farm sink. My house was built before WWI. It has natural wood trim, high ceilings, etc. but it's not very "fancy." I want to keep my "new" kitchen looking almost like it's been here since the house was built. Simple, period and *functional!*

BTDT. Textures, loud noises, tantrums, glue on fingers, tags on clothes, crust on bread, bright lights, strange bathrooms, wool sweaters, socks, shoes... It gets better, but it takes a long time.

You go girl!

I've used sunless tanner for years now. Its great! I am very fair though so I always mix it with regular lotion (plus it helps to go on more evenly).

Although today I am letting myself sit in the sun, (with my 30spf) on but it just feels so good! I read an article recently that not enough sun is as bad as too much sometimes, so thats my excuse, lol!

:o)

Hm, I couldnt say. I've honestly never thought about it. But I think I *act* younger than you do more than likely. Maybe thats part of the reason people sometimes think I am younger than I am? My youthful spirit? ;o)

One, I'm not doing "quality" time at 5:00 AM. Usually taking a shower, getting dressed, gettng breakfast, packing lunch, etc etc etc. Why does it bother the heck out of you that my child is up at 5:00/5:30? Benjamin Franklin said, "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise." I guess DS is on the right track.

And two, if I didn't have DS I would be working. Who needs to work more? I don't. I like spending time with DS because he has given me a great gift: the childhood I never had.

Ok, then please enlighten us as to what you actually LIKE to do with them. We all know you can't travel with them. You can't stay up late and have adventures like watching meteor showers or attending HP book release parties. They can't eat cake except for very special occassions. You don't want more than 15 hours M -F with them. And one of your children is "whiny" and "manipulative" so you don't find being with him a fun experience.

So what exactly do you like to do with them?

As an aside, nice dig on the "planned for and wanted." Yes, my child was unplanned, but he is the most loved and cherished child there ever was. He just sent me an email that said, "Mom, thank you for taking me out to lunch today. You're the best. I love you." We had ice-cream sundaes at Friendly's and giggled while coloring on the paper placemat.

That is why I love spending my time with him.
