What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

Yup. This is obviously a person with a long history of discounting opinions other than her own, on the basis of some sort of defect in the opinion-holder.
Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

When will that be, do you think. Given that it sounds like it hasn't yet occured for their parents?

Its not really about understanding the pros can cons and if it were really about conscious choice, there would be alot more in shape people out there.

Its the fact that you base your life around concerns such as naps and quiet time, figuring a little activity will fit itself in around that, that will do your boys perspectives in in the long run. Its not genetics. Its grocery stores. Those boys will probably never ever expend enough energy in persuit of their food, to justify the eating of it. That energy expenditure has to come elseways. Grocery stores = leisure time. You choose what happens in that leisure time. If what happens in that leisure time doesn't come close to making up for what doesn't happen in the persuit of the food - you have a problem. Not just you - everyone. We'd all have weight issues if we replaced hunting time with nap and quiet time as a priority. You just can't expect that you, your husband, or your boys to develop healthy lifestyles and avoid weight issues based on "lets get our naps and rest and quiet time and then see what else we can fit in without causing anything unscheduled to happen".

Sometimes....depends on the level of my dislike for the particular food.

The only place I'd ever buy fish, other than on Maine Avenue, is from Whole Foods (an upscale grocery store).

yeah; we get ours at Lexington Market or the Chinese grocery (sushi requires VERY fresh fish).

????

You mean like I should listen to you, because you believe your parenting is superior to mine?
