What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

He went from vegan, to vegetarian to pescitarian (ate fish) and now he eats chicken too. He got really sick and went to this natural doctor who specialized in ayurvedic medicine. The premise being (I think) that each person's body does best with certain foods. Chicken was one thing she recommended he start eating (he had like a 5 page list of what he could and could not eat! Talk about food restrictions, lol!). I dont know that I buy all of it, but he looks and feels 100 percent better so it must have some validity to it!

I think the nap thing is analogous to food too. No need to set up habits that inhibit life just because. Napping can happen anywhere for any child who wants one. Children are moving towards a nap free, nutrionally balanced life. No into a napfull nutrionally balanced life. Making a child who would rather not nap - nap, is like snatching the boiled carrots out of the 2 yr olds mouth. Becuase mommy hasn't done boiled carrots yet at home.

I like fat, actually. Always did. Especially if its well cooked. I don't like peas, particularily canned peas. I eat them anyway.

Hey there, OTP! Use a small bag of frozen brussels sprouts or a box. If you use the box, defrost it in the microwave just a little to make them come apart. Fresh works well, too.

Put a tsp. of salt, some pepper, some crushed garlic and about 2tbsp. olive oil into a bowl and smash it around with the back of your spoon. Add the brussels sprouts and maybe some baby carrots. Some cut up red pepper looks good, too. Also, some spicy Italian sausage, like pancetta or pepperoni, cut into dice, is good. Roast it in a flat pan (preferably non-stick) about 30 minutes in a 450 degree oven. You might want to check it after 20 minutes to see if it needs to be stirred. Enjoy!

But nobody has even tried to debate being considerate of food allergies and actual health related dietary issues. For family, or for that matter, for more casual guests at a larger gathering.

I don't really know how many days in a row you would do spaghetti that your mom on an out of state trip would need a cooler full of food to fill in for your spaghetti days. My Mom who is allergic to nothing, would just eat something else at the spaghetti meal, if she were allergic to tomatoes. My cupboards aren't generally that bare.
