What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

I think your life must be limitted in a number of ways. Sometimes I make chilli for my friends. Its a winter outing thing. Most of them love chilli, espeically mine. One doesn't but her husband does. More so than most because he doesn't get it at home. Guess what?

The interesting thing is that you and dana responded with different answers to these same questions, some of which I expected/knew, and others, not.

It's not as hard as you're making it out to be. At MOST it has given me an excuse to buy a new cookbook. And unlike you, I'm not thrown into a cold sweat at the thought of serving something from a cookbook I just bought. It really isn't that difficult. And before you say "it is that difficult to do well", it's not for somebody who has been cooking for over 20 years and often buys new cookbooks and tries recipes from magazines.

Maturity has nothing to do with it. It is protocol in many places (except for your neck of the woods, apparently) to do this. The protocol of polite people.

Lunchables? My kids won't even eat lunchables. If you want lunchables, you'd have to bring your own. Now if you want our version of Lunchables on the menu today you would have either

Pasta with butter
Chocolate bar
Strawberries
Grapes
Crackers (goldfish cheddar)
Two bottles of water

or

Pizza pocket - cold
Chocolate bar
Strawberries
Bananas
Crackers (ritz)
Two bottles of water

I would normally not offer this to anyone over 14 though.

1. I found it stressful to WOH FT because my son was in daycare from 7:15 AM to 5:45 PM. That was just too much time in daycare. I've noticed you didn't put your children in daycare. Why not?

Actually, until Peter was a little over 2 and a half (and Joey, from 3 months to 7 months) were in family childcare in our neighborhood from 8 am until 5:30 or 6.

Having the money in the bank so I don't have to work longer in life than I prefer to is equally valuable to me as time and experiences.

I was reading some of QM's posts to my roommate last night (he, like I, *loves* to experiment with new recipes), and his response was, "what freak show board are you posting to *now*?" LOL

I'm from the upper midwest; he's from Oklahoma.
