What about eating issues?

We have debated sleeping issues to death once again....so what about another one of the issues of childhood....eating and/or not eating?

My kids eat just about anything and have a pretty well rounded diet.

Oh, don't be concerned, you read it correctly. If your kids come over and turn up their noses at whatever I'm serving for lunch, there won't be any lunchables forthcoming for them.

Or in other words "Oh sh*t. I just accidentally supported QMs entire point".

Not you, but other SAHPs on this board have stated that one of the reasons they SAH is that they personally want to be the ones guiding and interacting and "raising" their children.

No. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. It was more like, "Damn. Am I tired. Did I miss something because the responses to my post don't make sense to me."

Liking a certain food is completely different than not being able to eat it. A vegan or vegetarian does not eat meat at all. A person who eats meat can still eat a vegetarian meal.

No, not really, LOL. I wasn't being strictly accurate either, just using Target as shorthand for "cheap clothes." I mostly buy stuff like t-shirts and underwear there. I don't find that they wear out faster that other such items.

But it is true that I don't spend a lot on clothes. I have the sort of job where I can wear t-shirts and jeans if I want to, and the sort of social life were I don't have a lot of occasions to get dressed up. My dress clothes are mostly hand-me-downs from my SIL, who gets them from her shop-a-holic mother.

When invited out, polite people accept what is served, appreciating the hosts efforts. If the polite people have serious food issues where they can't eat something - they let the hostess know that some arrangements for accomodations may be made one way or another. If there are merely food dislikes and preferencs they realize that when dining out socially, they may need to consume some of their non-preferences in order to be behave in a polite manner. This behaviour may from time to time, allow something incredibly unselfish to happen. Like - a spouse may get to enjoy something while dining at another persons house - that they never ever get to enjoy at home - home of course being the proper place for that spouses food preferences to have menu controlling impact. Acting as hostess is not a 'lowest common denominator' endeavour. To pretend it is so, simply affords people who won't consider being flexible in terms of food the right to control what is served anywhere they go. Whereas those who know how to behave politely, thank a hostess who may inquire, but let her know they are sure whatever she serves will be most acceptable.

The only complaint I have about the shorts I have from Target (purchased last summer) is that they're too big now. . .(grin).

Seriously though, I haven't had trouble with clothing I've bought there for myself or my kids.

Perhaps - actually have some guests over. Or better yet, take a trip and let people who don't know you cuisine try to prepare it for you. Noone is doubting that without any actual experience, you are fully convinced you do a wonderful job. However, considering where you hale from, its entirely possible that your concept of varried cuisine is limitted.
