I read the article this morning, and thought of this board, and others like it.

That's sort of twisting what I said -- if a work-at-home mom has childcare, then she's not being the full-time mom, and isn't that what people defind a sahm as? Of course you can kiss boo-boos and whatnot, but if someone else is caring for a child instead of mom, then mom isn't there to kiss the boo-boos as they occur. Oh well, I know what I meant. A wahm is a sahm if she's the one caring for her child.

I guess after thinking about this for a while, I think a wahm is a sahm mom. Unless we have childcare, we are still the mom. That has been my experience at least. I kiss boo-boos, homeschool, make the meals, change the diapers and still pay the bills with the income. Some days are really tiring but I think we can do both quite successfully. I do not think any mom can 'have it all,' we all sacrifice in some area but for me it is definitely the best of both worlds. It allows me to be the primary caregiver for my special needs child and watch him grow while helping my husband provide for us all. I think one of the worst things is when your child is ill and you are pulled in two directions but I would have a worse problem if I was in an office where I had to go home and could not do any work at all. The other worse thing is that people tend to think you are just available for whatever so they ask you for things. Sometimes

That was pretty much my take. It seemed that wah was being painted as the new "can have it all", which is just the same old bs.
